The rug on
my porch had seen
better days…
It was
screaming to be saved…
After much
research…
not really, it all came down to do I dye it or do I paint it…
I
decided to go with what I know best….
Paint!
Tape the
outer edges and using a brush lay down the first coat of base color.
Don’t worry about getting every nook and cranny.
Roll the second coat. Roll a third coat for extra coverage.
Let dry overnight.
Here comes
the fun…
Tape out
a design or use a stencil.
Paint the second
color using the same techniques as the base coat.
Viola!
Couple of
things to make your DIY project go smoothly— don’t paint on a windy day … make
sure the forecast isn’t calling for rain… and use exterior semi-gloss paint, it
will weather foot traffic, wine spills and mother nature.
