SALVAGED Inspiration

Reclaimed Wood Heart

-Do you scavenge for little treasures when taking a walk or wallow amongst the chaos in an antique store?
-Do you see possibilities in a rusted nail or a broken piece of jewelry?
-Do you have a fond love for weathered objects and find beauty in what others may consider as junk?

At ShaDeeLa, we think there is just something incredible about old wood, weathered surfaces and patina metal that produces the most beautiful array of textures and colors. We covet our stashes of rusty treasures, broken objects and vintage jewelry envisioning how they will play into our next piece of art.

Join ShaDeeLa for the SALVAGED WOOD HEART Workshops this March at The Green Doors  and in April at The Queen’s Ink as we adorn a reclaimed wooden heart with a creative combination of meaningful elements transforming into a lovely finished piece of art.

ShaDeeLa Creative Workshops is excited to share this unique and creative project as you up-cycle something old into something new and something new into something old.

Take a look...

at the incredible shadowboxes SDL students and awesome artists, Mary Ellen and Becky, created after taking the SDL Shadowbox Workshop in May.

Mary Ellen and Becky develop depth and wonderment in their projects by creatively using paper, words, found treasures and hand crafted embellishments. Each individual section stands on its own, but together it weaves an elaborate story.

It Was a Colorful Day!

What a marvelous group of “Blooming Artists” we had at this past
Saturday’s A Time to Bloom Workshop!

With a child-like approach each person created a whimsical and colorful painting while exploring layering and mixed-media techniques. It was uplifting to see all of the bright colors and uniqueness of each creation. We all had a wonderful time laughing and learning together!

Join us for one next month for our Altered Shadow Box Workshop.

We hope to see you and your artsy friends soon!

Incorporate Mixed Media and Texture into Your Blooming Painting!

Dig through your paper collection, art tissues, stencils,
 paints, markers, pastels and pencils.
Search for interesting objects to create texture
and pattern with.
Build painted backgrounds along with
 layers of paper, stencils,
drips and splatters.
Patiently allow your painting to evolve as you
let go of your worries and expectations.
Explore nature and invite it to inspire you with its wonderful textures and color combinations.
Begin to create with your paint palette, shapes and textures
of your own making.

Join us for our upcoming workshop
 A Time to Bloom

We’ll encourage you to
loosen up, relax, honor your intuition
and
allow your creativity to emerge naturally and authentically.

See Workshop Schedule for further registration and class information.
